The Hare and the Tortoise

The Hare and the Tortoise

Suitable for ages 2 to 7 years

A delightful adaptation based on the traditional story of The Hare and the Tortoise from Aesop's Fables. This exciting production with its loveable characters will take young children on an adventure full of laughter and surprises. They will participate in the thrill of the race whilst learning an important moral.

Music and songs feature in this enchanting production for young children, suitable for Nurseries, Playgroups and Young Infants.

"Hi there, I just wanted to share with you some feedback from today’s performance of “The Hare and the Tortoise”  today at Downsend School Pre-Prep Ashtead. As a company, you have been professional throughout from booking the performance to setting up and clearing away today. The actors were efficient, organised and flexible to work in our small setting. The children absolutely loved the performance and have been talking about it all afternoon. I have a class of 26 children aged 2 and 3 years old and have found it difficult to find performances that capture their attention and pitch the story at the right level so that they can understand. This production was perfect and I will definitely be booking with you again."                                                                          Miss Hayley Garland, Downsend Pre Prep School, Ashtead

"Really delighted with the shows and will definitely work with you again."
Andy Grays, Chief Executive Officer, Portsmouth Cultural Trust.

"The Hare & the Tortoise was a great hit. Our children wanted you to have the enclosed picture."
Lesley, Micklefield School, Reigate

"Thank you so much Aesop's Theatre! The children and staff laughed so much at the whole performance. They want to see you back again next year!! Great work!"
Mrs M Dehala, Stanhope Primary, Greenford

"What an absolute pleasure! The children and staff really enjoyed your performance and it has given us a great base to do some acting of our own in our literacy lessons! I am sure we will be seeing you again!"
Karen Whitehouse, Foundation Manager, Wyndcliffe Primary School, Bordesley Green

"As soon as next years dates have been sorted we will be asking you to come back! Thanks again."
Bernice Jackson, Headteacher, Kingswood Early Years Centre, Watford

"We all enjoyed the performance of The Hare and the Tortoise. Being a Nursery and Infant School, we sometimes find it difficult to get a performance that suits the range of younger children, but this one certainly did."
Helen Avey, Highbury Infant School

"Thank you for today's performance. The students really seemed to appreciate it, and I saw lots of animated faces when looking around the hall, in addition to the enthusiastic young people who volunteered to come up and join in. Lots of staff also commented on the success of the performance. Please keep us posted of any further productions for the future. Many thanks."
Chris Chambers, St. Ann's Secondary Special School

"Thank you so much for such a lovely performance. The children absolutely loved it and were engaged throughout. Your 2 actors were superb in their interaction with the children , the pace and delivery of the story. Please pass on my thanks to them. I really would like to book you for next year if that is possible, please?

Would you be able to come to Stroud School for the play Billy Beware. I'd like to request a theatre workshop afterwards for my Year 2 children as well. I know it is far in advance, but would you be able to pencil us in please. I have spoken to my Key Stage 2 colleague and passed on your information to him, I would envisage this being a yearly event from now onwards with a rotation of the plays that you do for younger children over the years. Thank you once again and Merry Christmas and Best Wishes for 2009."
Jayne Lunt, Head of Key Stage 1 Stroud School, Romsey

"Thanks for a lovely show... The Hare and the Tortoise... just the right length, just the right amount of audience participation and a message that made its point without being preachy. The actors were skilled, energetic and totally professional. We all had an enjoyable time and I hope the performers... Mike and Karen... did too!"
Lesley Mills, Devizes Festival

"The enclosed pictures show just how much the children loved the performance. We look forward to your next visit."
Cathy King - Exhall Cedars Inf. School & Nursery

"Many thanks to your team who came to us at Woodside Primary this morning to perform the Hare and the Tortoise. We take the option of bringing theatre in for our foundation stage children whilst the rest of the school visit a local pantomime, and we have been delighted over the past couple of years by the energy and professionalism of your productions. The children had so much fun today! Well done, and see you next year..."
Beccy Millward FS Co-ordinator, (Woodside Primary)

Dear Albert, Karen and Alia,

Firstly, may I extend a huge “thank you” for the wonderful performance delivered on Wednesday?

The nursery children and staff thoroughly enjoyed ‘The Hare and the Tortoise’ show.

I was very impressed too and particularly appreciated the ease of booking arrangements, friendliness of personnel and how our change of dates was accommodated.

Following on from the above, I have been asked to re-book Aesop’s for next Christmas!

Could you please confirm the cost will be the same as this year’s show and arrange a booking of ‘The Gingerbread Man’ at 1.30pm on Tuesday 17th December 2019?

I look forward to hearing from you in due course and will of course arrange payment of your invoice asap.

Kind regards,

Jackie Stanley, School Business Manager,
