Mike Swain
Mike is a Nottingham-born actor, writer and director who completed his B.A.(Hons) Performing and Media Arts Degree at the University of Derby. He toured with the Derby T.I.E. Graduate Company (Stepping Stones) in "What's the Real Deal" and with Troika Productions in "Macbeth" and "Toad of Toad Hall".
As the co-founder and creative director of Trade Secrets Theatre Company, which offers unique opportunities for community actors to develop and hone their skills, Mike has written, directed and/or acted in productions and musicals including "Bittersweet", "Life in the Farce Lane", "MacSaul" and "Black Letter Day".
Since his early teens he has worked with children of all ages starting out as a helper at summer holiday camps. He was a Drama Workshop leader for the Out of Hours Programme and toured with Chaplin’s Pantomimes, playing Billy Bones, the Squire and Ben Gunn in "Treasure Island".
